I love to online shop. I love to normal shop too, but there is something about internet shopping that makes me feel like I can buy anything on earth! Want a pet zebra (this happens to be a dream of mine), find one online! Want a sweater made by the hands of Turkmen weavers? Definitely available on the world wide web. Of course this can all be a little intimidating to navigate at times and that’s why I love Etsy.
Most of the things I have bought on Etsy have been pretty practical, but I like knowing that the absolutely bizarre can be found there and it’s all ready for me to purchase. Sometimes I will just search for ridiculous things (mittens for my feet was one of these) to see if someone out there in the atmosphere has created it and is selling it on Etsy.
To me, Etsy is the best thing to happen to women entrepreneurs in the last couple years. Let’s face it, the fairer sex is also the craftier sex, and what a great way to be able to sell your wares even if you live in a town of 20 in the middle of America.
So I’m always happy to support the maker and cut out the middleman. I push “buy now!” and I feel a bit like Rosy the Riveter meets Shopaholic. It’s kind of awesome.
Look at all these ridiculous things, like that fuzzy purple head. I love that you can buy everything on Etsy.
