Stacey thanks a real life superhero

It would be so easy to continue this blog indefinitely — there are so many people to thank. Even just this week, trying to thank people outside of my usual realm of thanking (uh, astronauts instead of donut makers), has been a piece of cake. One of the things I love about this blog is that it really makes me take stock of the good in the world on a daily basis. It’s been funny combing the media for good, not bad news. Not as easy, sure, but positive things are there if you look.

Like this guy, Victor Perez, who rescued a kidnapped girl the other day in California. He heard about the abduction on TV and then noticed a van that matched the description of the suspect’s vehicle. Instead of just calling 911 — he actually chased the guy down and made him surrender the stolen child. Um, hero? Even Governator Arnold honored him the other day, saying, “He had no idea if this person has a gun, or what or how this is going to end up. I played many action heroes in my movies, but this guy is a real action hero.”

It’s things like this that make me want to be a Good Samaritan too. Not that I would confront a potentially armed person — or maybe I would given the situation — but it even makes me think twice before just going about my daily business focused on myself.

There really has been so much good news lately! Like the teacher who gave those two boys CPR after they were struck by lightening! It is amazing what you can find when you focus on the good and not the bad. xoxo
